Green Chili & Cheddar Grits

2 cups Gruff Grits

2 1/2 cups Water

4 T.Butter

1 T. Taco seasoning (cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder & oregano)

1/4 tsp. each Salt & Pepper

1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 small can mild green chilies

1/2 cup juice from a jar of mild jalapenos

1/2 cup finely chopped roasted red peppers (drained, if from a jar)

2 bunches sliced fresh green onions


Prepare Grits according to package directions.

After they have rested for the final five minutes, stir in all ingredients.
