Autumn Harvest Porridge

  • 2 Cups prepared Gruff Ancient Grain Grits.

  • 1 Honey Crisp Apple thinly sliced

  • 1 Cup Black Currant Berries

  • 4 tsp Cinnamon

  • 2 tsp Allspice

  • 4 tsp Coconut Oil

  • Pure Maple Syrup & Coconut Milk or Cream


Bring 2 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 cups of grits and reduce heat to low. At 6 minutes stir then replace lid. Cook on low for 6 more minutes and set aside. (Or increase water by 1/2 Cup for creamier porridge which is great in this recipe!)

  1. After porridge has rested, stir in spices and coconut oil.

  2. Thinly slice a honey crisp apple.

  3. Wash and stem the berries, if fresh are not available try dried currants.

  4. Divide porridge into 4 bowls, and garnish with apple slices and berries.

  5. Drizzle with maple syrup and top with the milk of your choice. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon if you'd like.
